The North Thompson Stock Dog Association (NTSDA), a not-for-profit organization, has partnered with the North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo Association to host the annual Dogs With Jobs event at the North Thompson Fall Fair & Rodeo Grounds in Barriere, BC. Dedicated to raising awareness of the value and versatility of working stock dogs, the NTSDA has helped grow the sport of cattle dog trialing across British Columbia, expanding from a single trial in 2022 to multiple events province-wide.

Join us for two exciting back-to-back weekends celebrating the incredible abilities of working dogs. The Canadian National Cattle Dog Finals will take place July 18–20, followed by Dogs With Jobs on July 24–26. These events will feature top handlers and dogs from across Canada and the United States competing in multiple divisions, alongside demonstrations including herding, search and rescue, detection, agility, obedience, and more.

Enjoy a fun-filled experience showcasing the essential role of working dogs in agriculture and rural life, with competitions and demonstrations held in both indoor and outdoor arenas. Activites & Events

Dogs With Jobs returns to Barriere, BC with an action-packed weekend celebrating the skill, intelligence, & versatility of working dogs. Hosted by the North Thompson Stock Dog Association, this growing event highlights the vital role dogs play in agriculture, sport, & community life—while giving visitors an up-close look at what these incredible animals can achieve.

This year’s event is bigger than ever, featuring a dynamic lineup of demonstrations & activities including agility, search & recovery, & hunting dog work, along with stock dog trials & hands-on learning opportunities. With the added excitement of the Canadian National Cattle Dog Finals taking place the weekend prior, this season promises an elevated experience for competitors & spectators alike.
